It all started with a running 1987 944S "16 Valve" donor car...

Out with the old 16 valve, in with the new 16 valve! Look at how similar the package size is between these two engines.

LS1 conversion bits: Headers, remote oil filter kit...

In the car, and running (thanks to this site). No radiator or serp belt at this point.

Proposed upgrade after shaking the car down. Possible ProCharger 8-9 PSI boost set up.

Me taking my turn racing a 2005 PCA club race enduro in a Chicago based 944S2. I put it on the Pole for the race team, and we came away with a solid 2nd place finish in class. I raced my own 1983 944 in SCCA years ago. These cars are really balanced well.

Misc. detail shot from under the car... Remote oil filter lines are cozy with the headers. I will wrap the lines with a heat barrier.

Misc. detail shot from under the car... Starter motor is cozy with this header. It will get a heat barrier wrap as well. That loose wire is the O2 sensor connection. It will plug in once the exhaust is fabricated.

Moving along... Coolant system in place. Serp belt routed. New coolant tank, MAF to throttle body tube fabricated.

New fuel rail covers. These spruce up the engine bay, but serve no other purpose!

Another fuel rail cover photo. Next I will cover all of the wire loom with GM factory style harness wraps.

New GKN Motorsports axles. I hear this is the hot setup for big power. We will put them to the test.

Continued clean up of the wire loom etc. The red temporary heater hose will be replaced by stainless steel braded hose.
